Preparing for your stay is how we spend our day!

At The Milestone, we take pride in our continued offer of excellent hospitality and renowned luxury, blended with historic significance. As a family of passionate, enthusiastic people, discover how we ensure that every aspect of your stay is entirely exceptional. No request is too large, no detail too small.

Our family

Led by General Manager Andrew Pike, with 21 years of service, The Milestone is a family of passionate people, with a warm, inclusive ethos that embraces every aspect of our guests’ experiences. Our team is deeply committed to giving the very best in all we do, and we are so proud to be a part of the family-owned and run Red Carnation Hotel Collection, and to have recently received the prestigious Forbes Five-Star rating.

Delicious cuisine

Our passion for comforting and creative cuisine comes to spectacular life in Cheneston’s, our elegant restaurant. Executive Chef Daniel Putz creates warming signature dishes inspired by our founder, Beatrice Tollman, which are served alongside a range of delicious British options, such as Scottish salmon, cured by H.Forman & Son, London’s oldest smokery and carved right at your table, and delicious daily roasts presented on a silver trolley.

Thoughtful touches

Every team member is empowered to make a difference, offering a truly considerate attention to detail. Freshly-cut flowers, handmade luxury soaps, candlelit turndowns, personalised gifts, individual business cards and Bentley and Range Rover transfers all add up to a one-of-a-kind experience.

Milestone The Hermès Suite (Grand Master Suite)

Unique design

We pour our creativity into every room, always with our guests’ comfort in mind. Each room has a distinct character, filled with curated artworks and sumptuous prints. Our Grand Master Suites are iconic, from the Noel Coward Suite, with its art deco touches and priceless antiques, to the Hermès Suite, featuring lofty ceilings, extraordinary custom-made furniture and a romantic balcony.

A story to tell

From the Stables Bar which once housed the building’s horses, today a cosy nook with the feel of a well-loved gentleman’s club, to the Oratory, the original wood-panelled chapel, now a romantic, intimate dining space, to the stylishly monochrome Conservatory, our settings have a refined, welcoming and storied feel.

A perfect location

Known for our discrete nature, we are proud to be the neighbours of the British Royal Family, located just opposite Kensington Palace, with exceptional views across the Gardens to this most famous of homes. Our leafy surroundings are perfect for a picnic in the park and we are just a short stroll from the legendary Royal Albert Hall, as well as Notting Hill and Knightsbridge.

Authentic experiences

We pride ourselves on our local relationships, and carefully design remarkable experiences for guests. From inviting members of the Royal Philharmonic for private in-suite concerts, to learning the fine art of a great English tradition with our etiquette classes, or sampling our Smoking Old Fashioned in the Stables Bar, every detail provides a deep connection with our location.

Milestone Magnifying Glass

Exceptional heritage

Dating back to 1883, our Grade-II listed Victorian building, instantly recognisable for its striking Kensington-style red and white brick facade, is a true landmark, and we strive to protect and celebrate this precious history, from the original marble checkerboard floors, to the Victorian tiling, leaded windows and wooden panelling, allowing guests a rare glimpse into London’s history.

Family orientated

We take an all-encompassing view of our guests’ wellbeing, offering nurturing treatments by renowned wellness therapist Fiona Keane in our boutique spa and providing the very best mattresses from Savoir. From our welcoming green tea on arrival, to our fully-equipped gym and pool area, and our Butlers' exceptional attention to detail including a selection of beautiful soaps for guests to enjoy - every requirement is met with warmth and grace.
