Intimate and special, and surrounded by beautiful countryside, our country-house hotel offers a cosseting experience in the heart of Dorset. With genuine warm service, innovative and delicious menus, a relaxing spa, a stunning indoor pool and fragrant landscaped gardens, this is the quintessential luxurious escape.
We are delighted to be re-opening our doors once again for leisure stays from 17th May, and look forward to welcoming our guests with exceptional service and warm hospitality, alongside stringent safety and sanitation protocols to place our guests’ and teams’ wellbeing at the heart of everything we do.
Our Executive Chef Daniel Putz and his team make their mark, serving fine cuisine with an accent on modern British dishes. They balance their natural creativity with a superb collection of traditional comfort foods (organic and wherever possible, locally sourced).
From the Stables Bar which once housed the building’s horses, today a cosy nook with the feel of a well-loved gentleman’s club, to the Oratory, the original wood-panelled chapel, now a romantic, intimate dining space, to the stylishly monochrome Conservatory, our settings have a refined, welcoming and storied feel.
From seasonal cocktails and menus using the finest local produce.
Breakfast is served daily in a traditional Victorian setting.
With over 300 wines, personally selected by our Head Sommelier, we showcase a superb selection of the established names of the Old World, the time-honoured Clarets and Burgundies, the majestic wines of Italy and Spain, the immaculate vintages that bear such magical names as Montrachet and d’Yquem. Add to these an equally fine representation of the great New World wines that have become classics in their own right, and you arrive at a cellar full of splendour for anyone wishing to sample the loftiest peaks of wine making. We are also proud to offer a collection of exceptional wines from our sister vineyard Bouchard Finlayson.
