Cherry Blossom Afternoon Tea at The Milestone
I’ve experienced and reviewed more than my fair share of luxury afternoon teas in London and The Milestone Hotel & Residences, a five-star Red Carnation Hotel in Kensington, is the venue to which I return most when off-duty due to the exceptional attention to detail and the charm of the hotel itself.

Agatha Christie would have felt at home here, I’m sure. And that’s the nub – home. From its marble-clad bathroom to its expertly chosen artworks, The Milestone is pure elegance, but it’s also homely thanks to its cosy comforts and a classic bar.

As a writer, I could have stayed here for months, working at the enormous desk set at the end of the bed, gazing out the windows for inspiration and popping to the bar for a snifter.

Not only is this historic hotel filled with British charm (the doorman is old school, the Stables Bar is cosy and incredibly chic, and Park Lounge offers one of the best high teas in the city), but it’s in the ideal location for an afternoon spa treatment.
